Wheeler And Wilson Chart Code The DateThis guide will walk through the process to decode the date code from each generation.Wheeler And Wilson Chart Serial Number Itself WillUnfortunately, the serial number itself will not give information on later model vehicles. However, we have access to a database and can look up the exact model of your vehicle for cars made after about 1990. Usually, production begins in July or August, but can vary by year. As a general rule, we start with July as A, the August as B and so on. The manufacturers code is used to determine the year the car was made, not the serial number. The serial number is either 6 or 7 digits, but it does not indicate the model year. Determining the year the car was made on these earlier cars is fairly complicated. If you call us or send an e-mail, well try to help you determine the year your car was made. They no longer included the manufacturers code, and instead of a plate inside the passengers side dash compartment, they simply apply a sticker under the choke plate (on gas carts) or under the charger receptacle (electric carts). On this frame member, there is another sticker containing the serial number and other identifying information. You must get on the ground on the drivers side of the vehicle and look through the top of the wheel well towards the frame. The sticker is installed onto the central frame member as shown below.
